As the album title suggests, this is bongo rock. 8 instrumental rock tracks with the addition of horns and the depicted bongo. It often sounds like it could be a soundtrack to a movie. It contains some covers, including "In-a-gadda-da-vida" by Iron Butterfly and a track from 1960 named "Apache". This one is more famous than many know, not because of the song itself, even though it has a nice hook, but for a drum break that has been sampled many times for numerous hip hop and break beat songs, and it is said that hip hop got started with a loop of this drum break.
