#118 - Blue Cheer - Vincebus Eruptum
I expected a blues album, but no. There is a blues song on it, but mainly this is a very heavy rock album, even heavier and noisier than Jimi Hendrix. It sounds like a blueprint for coming heavy rock music. Musically it's not outstanding, though. There's a so-so cover version of "Summertime blues", the mentioned blues song and 4 more lengthy songs filled with all kinds of distorted guitar noises.
#117 - Aretha Franklin - Aretha - Lady Soul
A nice poppy soul or souly pop album with no big heights but also without any lows, just a pleasant listen.
#116 - Laura Nyro - Eli & The Thirteenth Confession
Musically this is not an uninteresting album, it sounds very modern, a woman on the piano with a style between jazz and pop, but what bothered me was Nyro's voice. It's rather thin and drills its way into my ears. After 13 songs I was glad it's over. So this was a mixed experience, a modern sounding album with interesting tempo changes that could as well have been from 1995, but with an unpleasant voice that made it difficult for me to enjoy the music.
#115 - Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
This is a live country album recorded in a prison in front of an audience filled with prisoners. Understandably it's mostly prison songs, but they don't sound too much like the generic country song, the lead guitar is not too twangy, and the atmoshpere is really dark thanks to Cash's voice. His full deep voice carried this album for me, he might as well have been one of the inmates jumping on stage and performing some songs. You just believe him when he sings.

#114 - Leonard Cohen - The Songs Of Leonard Cohen
What a wonderful album! This is a simple singer/songwriter record with mainly a voice and a guitar and some tiny yet wonderful additions in form of a sweet female choir, an occasional wind, string or a mouth harp. The 10 songs are all wonderfully sweet and melancholy. The voice is very calm and pleasant, as is the guitar playing. But the songs are really beautiful and timeless, my personal highlights are "So long, Marianne" and "Suzanne".
#113 - Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Another Hendrix album. Again there's the incredible guitar, the mass of sounds where you can hear the birth of many modern rock and metal styles, and there are the mostly irrelevant songs that just can't keep up with the sound.
#112 - Os Mutantes - Os Mutantes
There's good weird and bad weird. This album is definitely good weird. It's hard to explain genre or instrumentation, it's varies from song to song. It's a non-english act and they sing mostly in brazilian or french, though a little english is there. The songs are pop songs with wild different instrumentations and arrangements. Ideas flow around, you can really feel the creativity. "A minha menina" and "Baby" have the catchiest melodies, but the whole album is a great and interesting listen.
