#123 - Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

One of the most famous rock songs, and 5 other songs, that's what this album is. The first 5 songs are by no means bad, but they fade away next to the big one and I see them as an extended intro. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is an instant head-banger and just a great song. It starts epically with a goose-bump organ intro and then the main riff starts. The song itself doesn't have too much material, and so, after 2 minutes, we enter solo time. First the organ, then the guitar, then the drums with a famous and rocking solo that probably inspired many drummers, then again organ and guitar and at the end again the song from the beginning. While the solo parts aren't very special except for the sheer amount, they are part of the legend that this song is. It ends as great as it starts and it's a piece for the ages.
