A lot of folk, a little jazz, a bit of blues and soul, and a voice that sounds a little like Mick Jagger at its raunchiest. A very good album, though no song could really be called a hit, they're all very good, at its core they're folk songs, but they're accompanied by jazzy sounding bass, strings and winds without being all too jazzy, just as a flavor. The voice is interesting too, although I have to admit, I wouldn't want to listen to Morrison's whole discography at once. It's a voice you need breaks from, but it's never obtrusive or strenuous to listen to.
