This album sounds rather tragic, her voice sounds like the one of a broken woman with one step in the grave. I have to say I don't really like her style of singing with the vibrato setting in always at the same time when stretching a note. The music is only there to support her singing, and it does do that, with strings, winds and a slow grooving rythm combo. Her voice is very rough, scratchy, worn out, and you have to like that to enjoy this album.

#16 - Billie Holiday - Lady In Satin
This album sounds rather tragic, her voice sounds like the one of a broken woman with one step in the grave. I have to say I don't really like her style of singing with the vibrato setting in always at the same time when stretching a note. The music is only there to support her singing, and it does do that, with strings, winds and a slow grooving rythm combo. Her voice is very rough, scratchy, worn out, and you have to like that to enjoy this album.
